Ventnor
Ventnor City is a nice little community right next to Atlantic City.
You may not even realize you left the city at first – it is only a few miles down the street from Atlantic City, but as you begin to see more homes and less “action” you will know you have entered this charming small town. During your time in Ventnor City you will find many small shops and restaurants tucked away on the main streets of Ventnor and Atlantic Avenue. When it comes to lodging you will find a few bed and breakfasts and hotels, as well as, a few summer rentals in which you can rent a home or condo for a month or more. A great way to enjoy a relaxing vacation at the beach, while only a cab ride away from all the Atlantic City action

Margate
Margate City, home of Lucy the Elephant, the Margate Fall Funfest and great summer fun!
This wonderful shore community is a family type community with lots of shops, restaurants, shore activities and of course beautiful beaches. Located about ten minutes down the street from Atlantic City, it allows you to enjoy a relaxing summer shore experience while still being close to all the action in both, Atlantic City and Somers Point. Unfortunately, there are no hotels in this lovely little residential town so for lodging you will need to stay in Somers Point or one of the neighboring towns. There are a few summer rentals, but generally a month stay will be required. Many people stay somewhere close allowing them to still enjoy all the wonderful dining experiences and things to do in Margate City. Enjoy!

Longport
Longport is a wonderful, quiet shore community in which you may relax on the serene beaches and let all the cares of the world drift away.
Although there is less to do in Longport its location is spectacular! It is about fifteen minutes from Atlantic City and about five minutes from Somers Point and Ocean City. Visiting these neighboring towns will give you plenty of fun while letting you retreat back to the calm setting of Longport. Summer rentals are the only way to enjoy this town since there are no hotels, but most rentals will require at least a month stay. Ocean City
Ocean City, America’s Greatest Family Resort is just what it sounds like a fantastic place for families to travel to!
This beach resort is dedicated to wholesome family fun. Some of the many activities include the beaches and boardwalk, water activities, miniature golf, shopping, rides and water parks, the Ocean City POPS Orchestra on the Historic Music Pier and the Discovery Sea Shell Museum. There are plenty of places to stay at hotels, bed and breakfasts and summer rentals and of course there are many great children friendly restaurants. The last important piece of information you need to know is that Ocean City is it is a dry town. Meaning that there is no alcohol sold in the town, but if you are looking for a night on the town you are right over the bridge from Somers Point (about five minutes) and about twenty minutes from Atlantic City. Brigantine
Brigantine, only five minutes from Atlantic City, will take your breath away.
This beautiful island is full of wonderful things to see and do. Some of the many wonderful things Brigantine offers are boating, fishing, beaches, golf (Brigantine Golf Links), tennis, volleyball, the Marine Mammal Stranding Center and Sea Life Educational Center and Museum, Brigantine Beach Historical Museum, Brigantine Lighthouse and several wonderful restaurants. Stay at a hotel or summer rental and enjoy your vacation in the charming town of Brigantine.

Smithville
Smithville is a charming town about twenty-five minutes from Atlantic City.
Whether you decide to stay in Smithville or travel here for an afternoon adventure you will certainly enjoy the quaintness the Historic Towne of Smithville and Village Greene area has to offer. It offers a variety of restaurants and shops, plus a carousel, train rides, paddle boats, entertainment on selected days/weekends and you can even feed the ducks on Lake Meone. There is something for all ages! If you are a lover of golf or enjoy luxury spa services be sure to spend some time at the Seaview Marriott Resort and Spa located very close to Smithville. Also, be sure to check out the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge which is located only a few minutes a way in Oceanville – a definite must see for any wildlife lover! Absecon
Absecon, located about fifteen minutes outside of Atlantic City, offers many hotels, restaurants and shops on the way to the city.
Absecon is one of the oldest towns in the Atlantic area and is involved in regenerating their historical value. Check out the Absecon’s Historical Society Museum Howlett Hall. If you are a lover of golf or enjoy luxury spa services be sure to spend some time at the Seaview Marriott Resort and Spa located very close to Absecon in Galloway Township. Mays Landing
Mays Landing is an inland town approximately twenty-five minutes from Atlantic City and is right on the way if you are traveling from the Delaware Memorial Bridge.
It is next to Egg Harbor Township and features a variety of things to do, places to eat and places to stay. Parks, campgrounds, lakes, rivers and golf courses are wonderful assets to this nice town, plus it still has the hussle and bussle of an urban setting featuring the largest shopping malls in the area and a large movie theater. Mays Landing also features the Atlantic Cape Community College which has an Art Gallery and the Mays Landing/Hamilton Township Historical Museum.

Egg Harbor Township
Egg Harbor Township is actually an area that contains many towns within, however we have distinguish some towns separately (Linwood, Somers Point, Northfield and Pleasantville) in order to better explain such a large area.
Any locations explained as Egg Harbor Township will be locations that are a little further inland, but include activities you may only find inland. Egg Harbor Township features several shopping centers, restaurants, hotels and sporting activities. It also features several beautiful golf courses and is located close to its neighboring shore communities. Atlantic City and Ocean City are about twenty minutes from the most inland areas of Egg Harbor Township.

Egg Harbor City
Egg Harbor City is a small residential city about thirty minutes from Atlantic City.
It features a few restaurants, stores and places to stay. Although Egg Harbor is a little farther out and small, it makes it to our list because it features the wonderful Renault Winery. This resort features wine tours, gift shops, fine dining, a beautiful hotel and a golf course coming soon. A truly exquisite experience. Egg Harbor City also features beautiful countryside – you will enjoy simply driving along the forest and farmland area, and if you are really an adventurer you can go a little further to Basto Village in Mullica. Maybe even take a canoe trip

Pleasantville
Pleasantville, located about ten minutes outside of Atlantic City, offers many hotels, restaurants and shops on the way to the city.
It is close to Atlantic City and Brigantine, as well as, inland places such as Absecon, Smithville and Northfield. Pleasantville is a convenient drive to almost anything you want to do – whether it is shopping, golfing, boating or what ever else you can think of

Northfield
Northfield is an active community approximately fifteen minutes from Margate City and Atlantic City.
It is home to a variety of businesses featuring shopping, movies, games, restaurants and hotels, plus the Birch Grove Park and Wildlife Zoo and the Castro House and Northfield Museum. Northfield is also close to Egg Harbor Township and Mays Landing which lends itself to many golf and nature type activities. It is truly a town that is right in the middle of it all!

Linwood
Linwood is a residential community located over the Margate Bridge which puts it about five minutes from Margate, five minutes from Somers Point and about twenty minutes from Atlantic City.
Although it is primarily a nice neighborhood community it has some wonderful things to do such as visiting the Jim Kirk Maritime Museum and the Leedsville School Museum. Linwood also has some excellent restaurants and great shopping areas like the Linwood Shopping Plaza. Definitely worth an afternoon visit!

Somers Point
Somers Point, a small bayside community, offers many wonderful activities for vacationers such as a variety of water activities, sports, theaters, movies, shopping, fantastic restaurants, great places to stay and a swingin’ nightlife. Photos on Flickr
There is lots of entertainment throughout the season featuring Bay Fest in the Spring, Concerts on the Beach throughout the Summer and Good Old Days Picnic in September. Somers Point is also right over the bridge to Ocean City which features a boardwalk and lots of family friendly activities.
